Horizon Leadership Academy offers a variety of rigorous academic options to prepare students for college success. Our OnRamps dual-enrollment courses (in partnership with The University of Texas at Austin) allow students to earn both high school and university credit while experiencing real college coursework.
Students can also challenge themselves through Advanced Placement (AP) courses recognized nationwide for college credit potential, and Honors courses that provide enriched instruction, higher expectations, and deeper learning experiences.
These opportunities ensure HLA graduates are college-ready, confident, and academically competitive.
At Horizon Leadership Academy, we believe in providing every student with access to rigorous, college-level learning experiences that foster academic excellence and independence. Through OnRamps Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement (AP), and Honors programs, students can explore advanced coursework aligned with their strengths and post-secondary goals
Our partnership with the University of Texas at Austin’s OnRamps program gives students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit while experiencing authentic college instruction. OnRamps courses are taught by HLA faculty who are certified as OnRamps Instructors and supported by UT professors.
Students engage in college-level content, critical thinking, and academic skills that prepare them for the expectations of higher education.
College credit is awarded through UT Austin based on course performance and university requirements.
HLA Onramp Courses:
Our AP Program provides students with the opportunity to take college-level courses in high school and earn college credit or advanced placement through the College Board’s national AP exams.
These courses emphasize academic rigor, critical analysis, and deep content mastery — empowering students to stand out in college admissions.
HLA Onramp Courses:
Our Honors Program challenges students who demonstrate strong academic performance and motivation. Honors courses offer enriched curriculum, accelerated pace, and higher expectations for independent learning, creativity, and problem solving.
These classes encourage intellectual curiosity and prepare students for the rigor of AP and OnRamps courses.
HLA Honors Courses:
At HLA, we partner with SchooLinks to give students a modern, fully-integrated system to plan for life beyond high school — whether they’re headed to a four-year university, community college, certification program, or directly into a career or the military.
