At Horizon, we are passionate about providing an environment that fosters growth and encourages lifelong learning. Arts are an invaluable part of every Horizon student's education, and we are committed to offering extensive and diverse opportunities for artistic exploration.
Our dedicated faculty members provide expert guidance to help students tap into their creativity, allowing them to express themselves through visual art, music, drama, and more. Through this program, our students develop necessary skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration – essential tools they will use throughout their lives.
Welcome to our school's Visual Arts program! From pre-K to 8th grade, our students have the opportunity to explore a range of art media, develop their creativity and problem-solving skills, and gain an appreciation for the role of art in society and culture.
In our pre-K and elementary grades, students are introduced to various art media, such as drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture, and learn basic techniques and principles of art. Through hands-on, interactive learning experiences, they develop their fine motor skills, visual-spatial awareness, and self-expression.
In our middle school grades, students have the opportunity to build on their skills and explore more advanced art media and techniques, such as digital art and graphic design. They also learn about art history and the cultural context of different art movements and styles.
Our Visual Arts program is designed to be engaging, challenging, and inclusive, and to provide students with opportunities to develop their creativity and critical thinking skills, express themselves through art, and gain an understanding and appreciation for the diversity and richness of the world's artistic traditions.
Through the lens of empathy, the fine arts allow students to explore the depth of human experience, helping them understand the complexities of the world and recognize the profound impact their art can have on society.
